Built by engineers. Designed for everyone.

We are a team of engineers who drive electric vehicles and install them for clients across Europe. We kept running into the same problem: there was no complete solution.

Every platform we evaluated was either locked to a single hardware brand, required expensive proprietary hardware, charged eye-watering monthly fees, or all three. We received quotes for simple charging management systems that cost more than the chargers themselves. The market had decided that EV infrastructure was a luxury — and was pricing it accordingly.

So we built our own. OpenCharger started as an internal tool for managing a handful of chargers across client sites. When we realised the software worked well and the cost was a fraction of any commercial alternative, we decided to open it up.

The idea is simple: a homeowner with a charger in the driveway, a business with a car park, a solar farm with surplus power — they all have something to offer. Drivers need somewhere to charge. OpenCharger connects them on fair, transparent terms, with no locked hardware and no subscription just to get started.

We make money when you make money. That is the only model that makes sense to us.

Free to start

No monthly fee to list your charger or join the network. You pay a small commission only when a session completes — zero risk, zero upfront cost.

Open hardware

Any OCPP-compatible charger works. Buy the hardware you want — including ours, which we price at cost. No proprietary lock-in, ever.

Community-first

The network grows because every host benefits when more drivers join, and every driver benefits when more chargers appear. We build the platform; the community builds the network.

Solar-ready

Connect your solar generation to the platform. Sell surplus power directly to drivers at your charger — turning excess renewable energy into income.

Engineer-grade reliability

We built this to run our own installations. Every feature exists because we needed it ourselves — not because a product manager thought it sounded good.

Fair for everyone

Hosts set their own prices. Drivers see exactly what they pay. We take a transparent cut. No hidden fees, no dynamic surge pricing, no surprises.

"We were tired of being handed impressively priced quotes for things that should just work. So we built the platform we always wanted — and decided everyone should have access to it."
